This is a Medicine Pipe.

Here's the story on this item:

This is a picture of my personal wolf's leg bone medicine pipe. A friend of mine gave me the leg bone of a freshly killed wolf. I boiled and cleaned the bone of the all marrow. One end was cut open for the mouthpiece. The bowl and mouthpiece are made of red pipestone carved and cleanly fitted to the wolf's bone. The feathers came from a ptarmigan I shot with my handcrafted bow and arrows.

This happened back in what is called the BUTTE in Palmer, Alaska. The various beads signify the medicine journey the owner of the pipe has undertaken before sharing the sacred smoking ceremony with others. This particular item is NOT for sale for obvious reasons, but servers as an example of the custom work that we do here in Alaska.
