IP Address Routing

Windows 2000 / NT notes

I've been told that Windows 2000 has a software called a loopback adaptor that can simulate some of the properties of a Network Interface Card and this might serve our purposes and the addition of a NIC may not be necessary. Can anyone verify this?

Here are the equivalent instructions for enabling routing on NT/2K:
* Goto: Control Panel>Network>Protocols
* Select TCP/IP Protocol, and click 'Properties...' button
* Click 'Routing' tab, then tick checkbox for "Enable IP Forwarding"

Windows 2000 doesn't have winipcfg.exe - use ipconfig.exe
